The £1m project involved the demolition of outdated structures, a new-build extension with piled foundations and a warm flat roof system, and refurbishment of existing areas to align with current standards. Internal works included underfloor heating, M&E upgrades, and reconfiguration of learning spaces. The Challenges
The project was executed in a live environment, requiring meticulous planning to avoid disrupting ongoing operations. Dust suppression and noise control measures were employed to minimize disturbances. Due to restricted site access, pumped concrete was used for oversite works, and two banksmen coordinated vehicle movements to ensure efficient logistics. Environmental sustainability was prioritized by recycling demolition waste, reusing materials, and enhancing roof insulation from 120mm to 200mm, significantly boosting energy efficiency and aligning the building with modern performance standards.
