Ensigna Construction is thrilled to have been appointed as principal contractor for the remodelling and expansion of Redhill Academy—an exciting £2 million scheme that will enhance early-years provision and modernise learning environments for the next generation of pupils.
The project comprises two key elements: a complete refurbishment and spatial reorganisation of the existing Reception block, and the new build construction of a dedicated Year 1 teaching facility. Set within a live, operational primary school, the works will be delivered to the highest standards of safety, design compliance, and educational vision.
This scheme reflects the London Borough of Bromley’s commitment to delivering 21st-century learning spaces that support the National Curriculum, SEN inclusion, and the “Every Child Matters” agenda. From improved thermal performance and accessibility to optimised classroom layouts and finishes, every design detail has been selected to promote inspiration, functionality, and long-term durability.
Our delivery strategy includes phased construction to ensure that school operations remain uninterrupted. Specialist logistics and safeguarding measures will be employed throughout, with hoarding, dedicated access routes, and noise/dust controls forming part of a detailed site plan developed with school leadership.
Ensigna’s project team will be led by Charlie Hine (Senior Contracts Manager) and supported by Stuart Tate (SHEQ), Perry Gardiner (Commercial), and Laura French (Site Administrator). Together, they bring extensive experience of educational construction in live school environments and a shared commitment to quality, transparency, and collaboration.
