Client: New Wave Federation
Value: £135,000
Duration: Summer 2025
Completion: Autumn 2025
Ensigna Construction has been appointed to deliver a landmark sustainability project at Grazebrook Primary School in Stoke Newington—part of the New Wave Federation—supporting the school’s ambition to reduce carbon emissions and harness renewable energy. Funded by the London Legacy Development Corporation (LLDC), the £135,000 scheme forms part of a wider solar rollout across the borough.
The project will see the installation of a high-efficiency 102.03kWp solar PV system, including panels, mounting structures, inverters, and metering equipment, all installed to current British Standards, CDM Regulations, and school building safety guidance. Our team will oversee the design, engineering, and full project management of the system, ensuring all aspects meet structural, electrical, and fire safety requirements.
Works will be delivered during the school holidays to minimise disruption, with careful planning around term dates and alignment with a parallel PV installation at nearby Shacklewell Primary. The system will be fully modular and designed for future
adaptability, including easy temporary removal should planned roof upgrades take place in the coming years.
Key features of the scheme include:
· Structural survey and roof loading checks
· Mounting design and electrical diagrams
· Coordination with energy suppliers and DNO for grid export
· Integration of energy monitoring software for performance analytics
· 5-year service and maintenance contract
· Full O&M manuals, warranties, and compliance certification
As a Chartered Building Company with proven experience in delivering school energy projects, Ensigna is proud to help Grazebrook Primary take a significant step toward environmental responsibility—futureproofing the school’s estate while reducing energy costs and carbon emissions.
