Ensigna Construction is proud to be appointed as Principal Contractor for Phase 4 of the Hillingdon Hospital Decant Programme—an essential £2.8 million refurbishment project focused on improving Diabetic Care facilities within a live acute hospital environment.
Commissioned by The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, this project plays a critical role in the Trust’s wider strategy to enhance patient pathways and futureproof services through carefully phased, high-spec refurbishments. Our works will modernise key clinical spaces, upgrade M&E systems, and deliver a new standard of internal finishes—optimising the environment for both staff and patients while maintaining hospital operations throughout.
Working in an occupied healthcare setting demands meticulous planning, flexibility, and coordination with clinical stakeholders. Ensigna’s delivery team will implement a phased construction programme, carefully sequenced to ensure continuity of care.
Infection control, safeguarding of patients and staff, and zero disruption to emergency services are at the heart of our approach.
Our team will manage all design integration, programme compliance, and stakeholder engagement in close collaboration with the Trust’s estates and clinical leads. The scope includes reconfiguration of ward spaces, critical infrastructure upgrades, specialist medical installations, and the delivery of compliant fire and access systems—aligned with HTM and HBN guidance.
Led by our healthcare-experienced senior team and supported by a vetted clinical environment supply chain, the Ensigna team brings expertise, care, and assurance to every stage of delivery. Our role includes compiling a comprehensive Health and Safety Plan, managing decant coordination, and delivering a seamless transition into the refurbished space.
As a Chartered Building Company and ISO-accredited contractor, Ensigna is trusted across the NHS estate to deliver high-quality projects in complex, live environments. This project further reinforces our reputation for dependable, high-care construction delivery—where clinical excellence starts with the right built environment.
