Ensigna Construction is proud to lead the development of a new £4 million state-of-the-art educational facility designed to support children and young people with mental health needs. Commissioned by the London Borough of Bromley, this vital scheme
forms part of a wider strategic programme to expand local SEN provision and deliver truly inclusive, nurturing learning environments.
The project involves the design and construction of a specialist school building, blending both new-build and refurbishment elements to deliver bespoke spaces for therapeutic teaching, staff collaboration, and quiet retreat. Our role as principal contractor encompasses full design coordination, demolition of redundant elements, structural adaptations, high-performance M&E installations, and the delivery of accessible, secure external play and landscaping areas—all within a restricted residential setting near an operational primary school.
The scheme represents the best of modern educational design: low-stimulation classrooms, integrated sensory zones, robust safeguarding infrastructure, and environmentally responsible systems that reflect the site’s sensitive greenbelt context. Ensigna’s team will carefully manage planning liaison, stakeholder engagement, and community impact throughout the build.
Led by a dedicated delivery team of sector specialists, Ensigna brings deep experience of working in live school environments, balancing educational priorities with efficient programming, minimised disruption, and the highest standards of health and safety. We will ensure compliance with the Building Safety Act, CDM Regulations, and SEN-specific design guidance throughout.
This facility will provide a life-changing space for some of the borough’s most vulnerable learners—designed for dignity, independence, and emotional wellbeing. We are honoured to help shape an environment that empowers young people to thrive and educators to deliver care-centred learning.
